Bankruptcy Attorney Stephen Parry Introduce
For local users in Japan facing overwhelming debt and exploring options for financial relief, the "Nearby Lawyers" category aims to connect you with legal professionals who can provide guidance and support. While the information available primarily indicates that Bankruptcy Attorney Stephen Parry operates in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, it's important to understand the principles of bankruptcy law and how such expertise might be relevant to individuals in Japan. Although the specific bankruptcy laws and procedures differ significantly between the United States and Japan, the underlying need for legal assistance when facing severe financial distress is universal. Understanding the specialization of a bankruptcy attorney, even one based overseas, can provide a foundational understanding of the types of support available in such situations, and potentially highlight areas where local Japanese legal expertise would be essential.
Based on the information obtained, Bankruptcy Attorney Stephen Parry is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. While specific details about the physical environment of his office are not provided, a typical bankruptcy law office would offer a confidential and professional setting for client consultations. This would include private meeting rooms to discuss sensitive financial information, administrative areas for managing paperwork and court filings, and access to legal resources related to bankruptcy law. For local users in Japan, direct access to a physical office in Utah would likely not be feasible for initial consultations. However, the principles of bankruptcy law and the process of seeking debt relief often involve detailed documentation and legal procedures that could be discussed and initiated remotely, with the understanding that local Japanese legal counsel would be necessary to navigate the specific bankruptcy laws and court system in Japan.
The core services offered by Bankruptcy Attorney Stephen Parry center around assisting individuals and businesses in navigating the complexities of bankruptcy law in the United States. These services typically include:
- Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: Providing legal assistance to individuals seeking to discharge most of their debts through Chapter 7 of the US Bankruptcy Code. This involves liquidating non-exempt assets to pay creditors. While the specifics of asset exemptions and debt discharge vary significantly from Japanese bankruptcy law, the fundamental concept of a fresh financial start might resonate with those facing similar challenges in Japan.
- Chapter 13 Bankruptcy: Assisting individuals with developing and implementing a repayment plan over a period of three to five years to address their debts under Chapter 13 of the US Bankruptcy Code. This option is typically for those with regular income who want to repay some or all of their debts while protecting certain assets. Again, while the mechanisms differ in Japan, the idea of a structured repayment plan under legal protection is a relevant concept.
- Debt Relief Counseling: Providing guidance and advice to clients regarding their financial situation and the various options available for debt relief, which may include alternatives to bankruptcy in some cases. Understanding the types of debt relief strategies discussed under US law can provide a comparative perspective for individuals in Japan exploring their options.
- Creditor Negotiations: Representing clients in negotiations with their creditors to potentially reach settlements or alternative payment arrangements. While the legal framework for creditor negotiations differs between the US and Japan, the underlying principle of seeking to resolve debt issues through negotiation is universal.
- Protection from Creditor Actions: Once a bankruptcy petition is filed in the US, an automatic stay goes into effect, preventing creditors from taking collection actions. While the specifics of legal protections for debtors vary in Japan, the concept of legal safeguards against aggressive creditor actions during financial distress is a common element in bankruptcy systems.
- Asset Protection Planning (within legal limits): Advising clients on how to legally protect their assets in the context of bankruptcy proceedings, within the parameters of US law. Understanding these concepts might be relevant for individuals in Japan seeking to understand how asset protection is approached in other legal systems.
Several features likely define the practice of Bankruptcy Attorney Stephen Parry:

I have used Mr. Parry before back in 2006. I remember it to be a fast and easy process. I was pleased with his service. He was referred by family. I called him back recently to find out if im eligible for bk again. He called me back while out of town. And even texted me back when he was out of the country with some advice. I am highly considering hiring him when he comes back into town.
RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. I didn't believe the reviews about how rude he is, but it really is true. His work is okay. It's how he treats people that's the problem. Very unfriendly. I'm currently working with him. I wish I could leave, but I've already paid him. He has a short temper. He asks/makes inappropriate questions and comments. There is no talking to him about his rude behavior either, and he will try to turn the table on you and say that you're the problem. I can't wait for this to be over, so that I don't have to talk to him ever again.
After my car accident, I was in a pretty bad spot. I wasn't able to pay my credit cards, and my credit suffered. I even went over to those Credit Forgiveness places qhere they promise to help negotiate your debt down, for a fee. Except, they weren't helping either. I soon started to think about filing for bankruptcy, in hopes it would be better. This is where found Stephen Parry's law office. However, I should say, it was actually his house due to the CV19 happening. The actual office wasn't open. I was greeted by Barry, who walked me through everything I would need to know before I even payed a dime to them. He was upfront and very professional. Through out the process and several visits, we had talks about finances and he had even given me pointers on how investing works, and which kind of investments work best. Pretty helpful for 27yo just trying to find a way to make it in this world. I had read the current reviews on this guy, and I too was nervous, however seeing how most of them were just talking talking about how they didn't give free consultation, I wanted to give them a try, and definitely do not regret it. If I had to file in the future, I'd most certainly give these guys a go again.
Both Stephen and his associate, Barry, were wonderful to work with. They helped me with my personal BK situation so quickly and professionally that now I can put this part of my life behind me. The work was affordable as well; really affordable, which is important given the situation means people don't usually have alot of money in the first place to not be in this situation. Seriously, I hope others have the opportunity to be helped the way I was in the future. 😊 But P.S. they are real people with their own business and time that is valued. I saw some of the other reviews but wasn't worried at all. The situation is easy to read and some people get too upset for the smallest things. If you want an easy, and quick process and you want to go through with it for sure, then there isn't anything else to it.
All this guy does is Bankruptcy and his fee was half of what another lawyer wanted. He didn't make me fill out a bunch of paperwork before I went to his office. All I had to do was bring in my bills and answer a few questions. I got quick service for a fair price.
