Avalone Law Introduce
When searching for "Nearby Lawyers" in Forest Hills, New York, Avalone Law, located at 118-35 Queens Blvd, is one of the options that may appear. Choosing the right legal representation is a critical decision, and it's essential for prospective clients to consider all available information to make an informed choice. The online reviews for Avalone Law present a stark contrast in client experiences, which warrants a careful and objective examination.
Regarding the environment of Avalone Law, as with many professional legal practices, it is likely to be an office setting designed for client consultations and legal work. Located on Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills, the office is accessible to local residents. However, the provided information does not offer specific details about the office atmosphere or amenities. Instead, the focus of the available feedback is primarily on the nature and quality of the legal services provided.
The services offered by Avalone Law appear to encompass family law matters, as indicated by one client's mention of hiring Ms. Avalone for divorce finalization, child support, and full child custody. Another review references assistance with a son's family court case. This suggests that Avalone Law may specialize in or handle cases related to divorce, child custody, child support, and potentially other areas within family law. However, without a comprehensive list of their practice areas, it is advisable for potential clients to inquire directly about the specific legal services they require.
The features of Avalone Law, as perceived through the lens of the customer reviews, present a mixed picture. One client review paints a concerning picture, alleging "questionable and unethical practices." This reviewer details an experience of paying for legal services, specifically mentioning a financial agreement and payments totaling $2,279 through a third-party funding source, yet claims that only one document was filed in court, followed by a complete cessation of communication. The reviewer further alleges ignored attempts to reach Ms. Avalone for updates or a refund, raising serious concerns about the firm's client communication and service delivery. This account suggests a lack of diligence and unprofessional conduct in this particular instance.
In stark contrast, another reviewer expresses extreme satisfaction with Ms. Anna Avalone's services. This client describes feeling "desperate and confused" before meeting Ms. Avalone, who immediately provided answers and instilled confidence. The reviewer, initially hesitant due to the attorney's perceived youth, was impressed by her knowledge of the law and her intelligent approach to resolving their son's family court case. This positive review highlights Ms. Avalone's ability to provide clear guidance, keep clients informed, demonstrate care for their clients' interests, and fight hard on their behalf. The reviewer also notes Ms. Avalone's willingness to work with them regarding fees, suggesting a degree of compassion and understanding.
The promotional aspect of Avalone Law is somewhat complex due to the conflicting nature of the reviews. While the positive review serves as a strong recommendation, highlighting Ms. Avalone's legal acumen, communication skills, and client care, the negative review acts as a significant cautionary tale. For local users searching for "Nearby Lawyers," this duality necessitates careful consideration. The positive feedback might attract clients seeking a knowledgeable and caring attorney, particularly in family court matters. However, the serious allegations in the negative review regarding lack of service and communication should prompt potential clients to exercise due diligence and seek further information or consider alternative options.
For local users in Forest Hills considering Avalone Law, it is strongly recommended to approach with caution and conduct thorough due diligence. Contacting the firm directly at (516) 668-5438 or +1 516-668-5438 to inquire about their specific services, attorney qualifications, and fee structures is a crucial first step. Additionally, it would be prudent to seek further references or look for additional reviews from other clients to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the firm's overall reputation and service quality. Asking specific questions about communication protocols, billing practices, and the handling of client concerns would also be advisable.
In conclusion, Avalone Law, located in Forest Hills, presents a complex profile for potential clients searching within the "Nearby Lawyers" category. While one client praises Ms. Anna Avalone for her knowledge, communication, and dedication in a family court case, another client recounts a deeply troubling experience involving alleged lack of service, failure to communicate, and questionable billing practices. This significant discrepancy in client experiences underscores the importance of thorough research and careful consideration before engaging Avalone Law for legal services. Local users are advised to weigh the positive feedback against the serious allegations and to conduct their own due diligence to ensure they choose legal representation that aligns with their needs and expectations. The contrasting reviews highlight the potential for both positive and negative experiences, making further investigation essential for any prospective client.

I feel compelled to share my harrowing experience with Avalone Law Firm to alert others about the questionable and unethical practices I encountered. I hired Ms. Avalone in July 2022 for legal assistance in finalizing my divorce, obtaining child support, and securing full custody of my two children. From the onset, the service provided by Avalone Law Firm was subpar. Despite entering into a financial agreement and making timely payments totaling $2,279 through Fresh Start Funding/Open Wallet, Mrs. Avalone failed to fulfill her responsibilities. Filing only one document in court, she then subsequently ceased all communication with me. Efforts to reach Mrs. Avalone proved futile as she ignored emails, phone calls, and requests for a refund. It became evident that the law firm is engaged in fraudulent practices, taking monthly payments from clients without delivering the promised legal services. Even Fresh Start Funding has been unsuccessful in reaching Ms. Avalone to authorize a refund on my behalf. This experience has left my divorce proceedings and family matters in limbo, causing significant emotional distress. I caution anyone considering Avalone Law Firm's services to think twice and explore more reputable options. My hope is that others can avoid the financial and emotional turmoil I have endured. In summary, Avalone Law Firm is not to be trusted, and I strongly advise seeking legal services elsewhere.
I was desperate and confused until we met with Ms. Anna Avalone she immediately provided answers and instilled confidence. I was hesitant to use a younger attorney but she knew exactly the letter of the law and offered intelligent and well thought out ways to resolve my son’s family court case. Ms. Avalone kept us updated and informed every step of the way. I felt secure that she really cares about her clients. Ms. Avalone fought hard to represent our interests. As I am retired she graciously worked with us regarding fees. She really cares, I have had many other attorneys throughout the years but Ms. Avalone far surpassed my expectations. I cannot thank her enough. I highly recommend Avalone Law.
Avalone law services are top of the line. Ms. Avalone was professional and courteous. She explains the process from start to finish. Ms Avalone is on top of deadlines, returns calls and emails expeditiously. She explains the law in simple terms to help understand. Ms. Avalone and her team will work hard to get the best results for your case. I would recommend anyone to her for all their legal needs especially family law and criminal law.
Update: I filed for arbitration and I won. The arbitrator issued an award in my favor in the amount of $1,500. The award was binding on Avalone, but she failed to pay it. I had to go to court to get it confirmed so that I could start the enforcement procedure. Avalone showed up in court more than an hour late and finally handed me the check. The fact that she lost a case regarding her own fees and was late to court for the hearing only confirms her incompetence that I described in my original review below. Her response pretending to not know who I am is amateur. I can definitely post a copy of the award to refresh her memory. Stay Away: Fraudulent Billing and Incompetence. I hired Anna Avalone to represent me in a child custody case and paid her $2,000 retainer. She didn’t meet a single deadline. She unreasonably delayed the child support filing so I lost over a month of child support payments. She missed several calls with my witnesses that she scheduled. She missed calls with me. I had to call/email/follow up to get anything done. After so-called “working” on my case for almost two months all she managed to do was to file a child support petition - a simple form anyone can fill out in 10 min (it took days for her and her assistants to fill it out and I still had to correct mistakes after them). I asked her several times to return my retainer and let me go. She refused. Instead, she requested I pay her additional $4,622 so that she returns my file (it was her legal responsibility to return my documents, instead she chose to blackmail me). She stoped responding to my emails and answering my calls completely after I pointed out that her invoice was fraudulent (e.g. she charged me 1.5 hours for a call that lasted 6 minutes, she charged me 5 hours for a form that I filled out myself in 10 minutes; and I can go on and on). The lesson I learned with Avalone: once she gets your money, you're on your own. I filed for arbitration to get my money back and I've reported her to the Bar. I really hope the Bar will take an appropriate action soon so that she won't scam people going forward.
The unfortunate thing is that when you read the reviews here you get exactly what I experienced. And I did not read the reviews ahead of time. I chose Anna based off of my need. Clearly she was creating her new practice or something because it started out with me only speaking to Anna, Months in after multiple unanswered emails I would get contacted by someone saying they were the new secretary etc and wanted me to sign something. Then I would leave multiple messages, multiple emails etc, and wait months again only to meet a new secretary, or assistant who could answer no questions and give no information. Ultimately, She lied. She stated she filed things, invoiced that she prepared things, stated that she was going to do things that she didnt actually do. Once my divorce was able to be filed as a default, she gave up. It was default eligible in May of 2021, I pressed her since then via email and on phone about filing the default so we could get it over with. She promised to do it over and over and never did and finally I gave her a date. October 19th. And never heard from her again. And i sent over 20 emails... "what is happening with the default divorce? Has it been filed?" and received NOOOOO reply. Finally I sent an email threatening to file a grievance and within minutes I got a reply. This time, I asked her, if you have not filed this filing then I no longer need you to which she answered that it had been filed and that she no longer felt like we could have trust amongst each other and we ended our relationship. She then had some people from her office send me new invoices that had new charges on them that were not on past invoices etc. Like others I have read here she also has been holding my file hostage and worst she never sent the paperwork in to the court to take herself off of my case. So, she is also holding my case hostage. Nothing can be done as long as she is still listed as the Lawyer on the case. There are multiple things being done to rectify this at this moment and all of them lead to her breaking ethical laws in doing this. I like many others was taken advantage of by this lawyer. My wife was NEVER served the child support papers and we had 3 child support court dates that we went to where Anna lied and stated that she was served but never had the proper paperwork for the court. No affidavit of service means it was never done. Its unfortunate that Ms. Avalone is doing this to people. Please beware of her because I dont write reviews but after what I have gone through and am still going through i felt like I needed to warn people.
