As a law firm specializing in family law within the Nearby Lawyers category, the Atlanta Divorce Law Group aims to provide legal assistance to individuals facing issues such as divorce, separation, child custody disputes, alimony, property division, and other related matters. While specific details about the ambiance and design of their office are not detailed online, family law practices typically strive to create a supportive and confidential environment where clients can discuss sensitive personal matters with their legal counsel. You can likely expect private consultation rooms, administrative areas for staff, and resources for managing legal documents and case files. The focus is generally on providing a space where clients feel comfortable and secure during a challenging time in their lives.

The services offered by the Atlanta Divorce Law Group primarily revolve around family law. Based on the available customer reviews, it can be inferred that they handle a range of issues within this domain. One positive review highlights their success in resolving a complex case involving an out-of-state former spouse. The client commends their masterful handling of the situation, achieving a resolution within approximately 90 days after another firm had unsuccessfully managed the case for a longer period. This suggests that the Atlanta Divorce Law Group possesses expertise in navigating interstate family law matters and is capable of efficient and effective case management, even when facing additional complexities.

However, another, more critical review provides a contrasting perspective on the firm's service delivery. This client initially had positive interactions with the founder, Sara, and a partner, Shawna, during the initial consultation phases. They were impressed by their knowledge and support. However, the experience took a negative turn when a lawyer named Megan was assigned to their case. The client felt that Megan was unprepared, provided poor advice, and rushed the case without careful review. This individual also noted that Megan left the firm mid-case, raising concerns about her motivations and the continuity of service. The client ultimately felt that the level of service received did not justify the cost and expressed regret about not having the opportunity to select their own lawyer.

Based on these reviews, the features of the Atlanta Divorce Law Group appear to be a mix of potential strengths and areas for consideration:

  • Expertise in Complex Cases: The firm demonstrated an ability to successfully handle intricate family law issues, such as those involving out-of-state parties.
  • Efficient Case Resolution: In at least one instance, they were able to achieve a relatively quick resolution compared to another firm.
  • Knowledgeable Initial Consultations: The founder and a partner were perceived as knowledgeable and supportive during the initial stages.
However, the critical review highlights potential weaknesses:
  • Inconsistent Attorney Performance: There may be variability in the preparedness, advisory skills, and dedication of the lawyers assigned to cases.
  • Risk of Rushed or Undercarefully Reviewed Cases: Some clients may experience a lack of thoroughness in the handling of their legal matters.
  • Potential for Assigned Attorney Departure: The departure of an assigned attorney mid-case can disrupt the legal process and raise concerns about continuity and motivation.
  • Importance of Client-Attorney Fit: The experience suggests that allowing the firm to assign an attorney may not always result in the best client-lawyer relationship or outcome.

Promotional information for the Atlanta Divorce Law Group is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive review, which praises their ability to resolve a complex out-of-state divorce efficiently, could be seen as a form of implicit promotion for their expertise in handling such cases. It suggests that individuals facing similar jurisdictional challenges might find their services particularly beneficial. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary note, emphasizing the importance of carefully vetting and selecting the specific attorney who will be handling one's case within the firm.

The advice from the client who had a negative experience – to interview a few of the lawyers at the firm and choose the one you believe would be the best fit, rather than allowing the firm to assign someone – is a crucial takeaway for potential clients. This suggests that while the firm may have capable individuals (as indicated by the positive review and the initial interactions with the founder and partner), the experience can vary depending on the specific attorney assigned to the case.

For local users in Atlanta seeking divorce or family law assistance, the Atlanta Divorce Law Group presents a mixed picture based on the available feedback. While they appear capable of handling complex cases effectively, there are potential concerns regarding the consistency of attorney performance and the process of attorney assignment. Therefore, it is highly recommended that potential clients who choose to consider this firm take the advice of the critical reviewer and actively engage in the selection of their specific legal counsel within the group. Conducting interviews with multiple attorneys at the firm could help ensure a better fit and potentially lead to a more satisfactory outcome.

In conclusion, the Atlanta Divorce Law Group offers family law services in Atlanta, GA, with evidence of success in complex, such as out-of-state, divorce cases. However, potential clients should be aware of the possibility of inconsistent service quality depending on the assigned attorney. It is strongly advised to thoroughly vet and personally select the attorney within the firm who will handle their case to maximize the chances of a positive and well-handled legal experience. Contacting the firm at (470) 235-4226 to inquire about their attorneys and arrange interviews would be a prudent step for anyone considering their services.

I really didn’t want to leave this review, but I appreciate Jackie at the firm continuously encouraging me to be transparent and share. So my lawyer that was assigned to me was not as prepared or informed as the founder Sara. She was not a good advisor, or lawyer. My case felt rushed and was not carefully reviewed. In hindsight, it made sense why my case was so rushed, and the attention to detail was not given as the lawyer that was assigned to me, ended up leaving in the middle of my case. I really believe she wanted to be paid as much as she could for the remaining time she was at the firm. The only reason I went with the firm was because I did two calls with Sara and she amazing and very supportive. I also did an intake call with the partner of the firm Shawna and she was very well-versed and told me some things I could and should go after in my case during my intake call. But when the lawyer Megan was assigned to me, and I told her all of the things that Shawna had told me, she basically said I that and it was a bad idea. If I had to do things all over again, I would be the one selecting my lawyer, and not allowing the firm to assign a lawyer to me. For as much as I paid and for what I got I could’ve not hired this firm at all. So overall, I would not say not to use this firm, but I would definitely say interview a few of the lawyers and go with whomever you think would be best for you. Do not allow them to assign someone to you.

The Atlanta Divorce Law Group did an excellent job of resolving my issue. My former spouse is out of State which added a level of complexity. They handled this masterfully moving things to resolution within about a 90 day period when another law firm had unsuccessfully retained my case for a longer period of time with no movement and some significant misses. I highly recommend this firm for all you Family Law issues.

Excellent service, they walked me through every step and were very communicative and informative unlike other attorneys I worked with. They helped me negotiate a much better settlement than other attorneys I spoke with. I am very pleased and happy that I used them and recommend to anyone going through a divorce and have a lot of anxiety about their future. I am very grateful to them!

Quick, compassionate, and thorough help navigating an issue that is typically fraught with emotion and conflict. I felt well represented, and I felt that my team understood what I was going through and helped move things forward quickly. If you've got to deal with this particular issue, they're a good team to have on your side.

ADLG is an incredible resource for so much more than divorce. I’m happily married and have never needed them in that arena, but family law goes way beyond divorce. I’m happy to say that I’ve not needed them for divorce, but they’ve been stellar in other areas where I did have a need. Specifically, guiding me on the path to maintaining my child support and dealing with the courts to make sure every dollar was anointed for, and went where it was supposed to. I’ve dealt directly with Shawna for legal guidance, and Nicole for EVERYTHING else, and my experience with ADLG is why I’d refer everyone I know, that’s dealing with family matters, to have a conversation with them.
