I am beyond disappointed in how my case was handled by the district attorney’s office. From the start, it was clear they had little hope or interest in pursuing justice, dismissing the situation by saying, “it’s an old case” as if that minimized the severity of what happened. What’s worse is the failure to properly cross-examine the opposing party, who made multiple false and irrelevant statements, all of which went unchallenged. Important evidence that could have changed the outcome, including key screenshots, wasn’t presented in a timely manner and ended up being omitted. This mishandling ultimately led to a frustrating and disheartening outcome, leaving me with the impression that the legal system treats cases like mine as insignificant. I expected better from an office meant to uphold justice, but instead, I feel as though my time and trust were completely wasted.
The system has failed the family and Luis Mejia Hernandez. Luis lost his life and the murderer was only sentenced to 5 years in juvenile detention!!!!! How can these people sleep at night!!!? Such a huge injustice!
