  • Avoid using Diane Prevete as your attorney. I retained her to protect my interests and she failed miserably. She was retained for a simple residential closing and missed a significant component of the purchase; namely that I was to have beach access rights. This valuable right was clearly mentioned in the contract of sale as well as the title report - which she clearly didnt bother to read. As a result, the access rights were left off the deed. I now have to retain new counsel to amend the deed. As a further insult, when this was brought to her attention, she saw fit to attempt to charge me an additional $700.00 to correct her mistake.
  • Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER hire this law firm. They represented me during my matrimonial case, and billed me over $200,000 without resolving any issues. My case involved over 100 adjournments. Then, they placed a lien on my case file, prejudicing my case. Ironically, I hired another attorney who resolved the issues in my case without a single piece of paper from their precious file... in a very efficient manner. Finally, this firm drove me into bankruptcy, where they appeared and opposed ANY adjournments after allowing an unreasonable amount of adjournments at my expense while they were representing me. This firm is way more aggressive attempting to collect their fees, when representing themselves, than they are aggressive when representing their clients. There are many other law firms out there... I'd be very careful when dealing with this firm. Do yourself a favor, start looking for another firm if you need legal services.
  • We have been utilizing their services for estate purposes and they have been great.

About Albanese & Albanese

For individuals and businesses in Garden City, Nassau County, and the surrounding areas seeking legal representation, the platform category "Nearby Lawyers" offers a directory of local legal professionals. Among these is Albanese & Albanese, located at 1050 Franklin Ave #500, Garden City, NY 11530, USA. This introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of this law firm based on the available customer reviews. It is crucial to note that the provided reviews detail significantly negative experiences, which potential clients should carefully consider when evaluating this firm for their legal needs.

Albanese & Albanese's office is situated on Franklin Avenue in Garden City, a prominent area within Nassau County known for its professional and commercial establishments. The designation "#500" suggests that the law firm occupies a suite within a larger office building. While specific details about the firm's internal environment, such as the size of their offices, the number of attorneys and support staff, or the overall ambiance, are not provided, it is reasonable to expect a standard professional office setting for a law firm located in such a building. Clients would likely anticipate a space where they can discuss legal matters with attorneys and staff in a professional and confidential manner. The Garden City location offers accessibility for clients throughout central Nassau County.

The provided customer reviews offer critical insights into the potential services and client experiences with Albanese & Albanese. One review specifically cautions against using Diane Prevete as an attorney within the firm. This client retained Ms. Prevete for a "simple residential closing" and reports a significant failure to protect their interests. The reviewer alleges that Ms. Prevete missed a crucial component of the purchase, namely beach access rights explicitly mentioned in both the contract of sale and the title report. As a result of this oversight, the access rights were not included in the deed, necessitating the retention of new legal counsel to rectify the error. The reviewer further states that when this mistake was brought to Ms. Prevete's attention, she attempted to charge an additional $700.00 to correct it. This account suggests potential issues with thoroughness, attention to detail, and client service within the firm, at least in this specific instance of a real estate transaction.

The second review provides an even more critical assessment of the entire law firm, Albanese & Albanese. This former client, who was represented in a "matrimonial case," strongly advises against ever hiring the firm. The reviewer alleges exorbitant billing, exceeding $200,000, without any resolution of the legal issues. The case reportedly involved over 100 adjournments, which the client implies were excessive and unproductive. Furthermore, the reviewer states that the firm placed a lien on their case file, which allegedly prejudiced their case. In stark contrast, the client reports that a subsequent attorney resolved the outstanding issues efficiently and without needing any documents from Albanese & Albanese's file. The review concludes with the serious accusation that the firm drove the client into bankruptcy and then opposed any adjournments in the bankruptcy proceedings after allegedly causing unreasonable delays while representing them. The reviewer characterizes the firm as being "way more aggressive attempting to collect their fees" than in representing their clients and strongly recommends that potential clients seek legal services elsewhere.

Based on these two highly negative customer reviews, several concerning features emerge regarding Albanese & Albanese. These include a potential lack of attention to detail in real estate transactions, as evidenced by the missed beach access rights. In matrimonial cases, there are allegations of excessive billing, unproductive delays, actions that prejudiced the client's case (the lien), and aggressive fee collection practices that seemingly outweigh the firm's commitment to effective client representation. The stark contrast in the outcome achieved by subsequent counsel in the matrimonial case further underscores the dissatisfaction expressed in the review. These accounts raise significant red flags about the firm's efficiency, client service, billing practices, and overall effectiveness in handling legal matters.

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the available customer feedback, there is no positive promotional information to be gleaned from these reviews. Instead, the reviews serve as strong cautions against engaging the services of Albanese & Albanese, particularly highlighting concerns about specific attorneys within the firm (Diane Prevete) and the firm's overall handling of matrimonial cases. The experiences described by these reviewers could unfortunately act as negative promotion, potentially deterring prospective clients. In the absence of any positive reviews or official promotional materials in the provided data, potential clients are left with these serious allegations to consider.

In conclusion, Albanese & Albanese, located in Garden City, Nassau County, has received strongly negative feedback from the only two customer reviews provided. These reviews allege significant issues, including a failure to protect client interests in a real estate closing, excessive billing and delays in a matrimonial case, actions that allegedly prejudiced the client's case, and aggressive fee collection practices. Potential local users within the "Nearby Lawyers" category considering Albanese & Albanese for legal services should carefully and seriously consider these negative accounts. Due to the severity of the allegations and the lack of any positive feedback in the provided data, prospective clients are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including seeking additional information, references, and potentially consulting with other legal professionals before making a decision. The information available suggests significant potential risks associated with engaging this law firm.
